I heard the statistic of something like 80% of Canadians watched the game, I sure did. Anyways I found this chart depicting water usage during the game. Look at how perfectly the use skyrockets during the period breaks.

Olympic 2010 gold medal hockey game, water usage.

On a side note: I feel proud that I contributed to a chart!

So the iPad is coming out soon, and Apple has opened up preorders for them. To me it looks and sounds like a large ipod touch. It has all the functionality, of one with a bigger screen. All the functionality minus the portability that is. Now some may say that it is larger and super awesome for reading books on. While it is larger, I think that the display will be tiresome to the eyes; as when you read books they tend not to emit light. If you really must have books on the go, I think e-readers have developed to a good enough state where you could consider owning one. So where does that leave the iPad? I guess it could be a tool for surfing the internet from the couch, however it would be quite limited considering it doesn’t support flash. No flash means no super fun games.

I do not mean to rage at apple, as they do have a certain amount of innovation. But seriously WTF is the point of an iPad??? Am I completely missing something or does someone out there agree with me?

So there was a big earthquake in Chile right, well apparently it shifted the earth’s axis. This change actually caused the day to shrink by a whole 1.26 microseconds! So if you feel as if your day has gotten shorter, its not just you.

I wonder what part of the day they will take the time away from, I hope its not my sleep time. -_-

A leap year, the year intel was founded, the year Swaziland declared independence. All true, but 1968 was also the year that the my first coin set was minted in. You see a few weeks back I was browsing ebay and decided to pick up a proof like set of coins from 1968. Sealed in plastic there are 6 never circulated coins. The penny, nickle, dime, quarter, half dollar, and dollar. I think these beasts are super cool, so I decided to start a little coin collection, and have other sets on the way, amongst other things. I’ll post pics of the set at a later time that is not past midnight.

So a question for whoever is reading this; do you collect anything?

GRAH! I have been slacking not only in studying but in my blogging responsibilities. Hardcore procrastinator is what I am. I will try to post something interesting on a daily basis from now. Given, that I dont come home from work and pass out right away.

So somebody turned in my wallet the day after I left it on the bus, nothing was taken. Shows that there are some good people in this world. So readers initiate a preemptive strike on karma, if you find a wallet think twice before keeping it because you might lose yours someday.

I’ll start the raffle soon, likely this weekend.

Gonna go do one final push and attempt to study some Statistics right now.

So today I recieved my mark for a Math midterm I wrote before reading week. Accomplished a solid 40/100 on a test worth 35% of my mark. I’m hoping for a 70% on the final exam so I dont fail the course.

On top of finding out this awesome news, I managed to ditch my wallet somewhere between getting on the bus at university and getting off the bus near work. As I went to get food I reached into my coat pocket and couldnt find my wallet, a pleasant surprise to liven up the rest of my day. I’m just thinking it slipped out of my big coat pockets. Now why did I put my wallet in my coat today? Well I just did laundry yesterday so my jean pockets were tighter then usual, making it sliglty discomforting to put a wallet in there. Currently I’m hoping for my belief that humans are generally good to shine through, and for someone to turn the wallet it.

    Oh well.

    A few lessons for you:
    1. Study more for important tests.
    2. If wearing jeans tight out of the wash, put your wallet in your breast pocket as it will less likely fall out.

So reading week was intense. Lots of sleeping, fun, oh and did I mention. Pink eye! Its better now though. :D

Hopefully everyone is enjoying the winter Olympics, and rooting for your favorite country. Woot go Canada!

In other news I got myself a Motorola Milestone smart phone. To replace my not so smart phone. What does this mean?!?! Mobile blogging maybe!?!?!? That would be intense, I’ll see if I can get that set up. It shall be epic.

Oh aaand I purchased another AE game card, just for you! So we will have another raffle sometime soon. This one will probably be a big one, where I announce it everywhere! Stay tuned.

So those two midterms were like polar opposites of each other. The Perl midterm went well, lots of writing code but nothing that was over my head. The Elementary Calculus II however was like @_@. Hopefully I’m not the only one that struggled, as the class is curved.

Yay for the week long break known as reading week. And holy crap I got lots of reading to do. Got to read The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver for my english class. I dont appreciate reading literature, nor am I a very fast reader, so this will be time consuming. Looking on the upside however, the story seems more or less interesting. I’ll let you know my thoughts, once and if I finish it. If I dont, sparknotes FTW!

On top of that I have to study up for Java, because the day I get back. I get hit by a Java midterm. BAM!

So my reading week ‘break’ is a break in the loosest sense of the word. Lots of fun and joy and studying!
